Hey everyone!

As said in the title, I would love to start investing in the Peoria area mostly in Bradley, and would love any tips and guidance from those who have done it. I live in Chicago but it would mostly be out of state investing. Any help would be great!

@James Carlson Love the advice! I do plan to buy more towards the end of my sophomore year(I’m a freshman now). So I would really like to get ahead on the planning aspect.

@Francois G. It would be in Bloomington, and sophomore year I will be renting out so I’ll have a 12 month lease and then hopefully I could get my friends to rent at the house I would purchase the following year

@Colleen F., I appreciate the response, I’ll definitely have the reserves saved then.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. The reason for this post is I plan to invest in a single-family property as a house hack during my sophomore year in college in Indiana for the next upcoming school year. My big concern is that if I do buy the property, say between October - March, what will I do about the vacancies? I do plan on doing minor renovations so that may take only a month or two but other than that, should I rent the space at a cheaper price for short-term rentals? I would have the reserves (hopefully) to accompany a 6-month vacancy until next school year.  All responses would be appreciated!

Hey everyone!

I have been doing all I can to start beginning my process of being a real estate investor. I have read many of the bigger pockets real estate books already and many of them talking about growing your circle. This is exactly what I'm trying to do by finding a local REIA in Chicago! Appreciate it!
