it is true. That was my question bc I didn't know how things work in the US. Thank you very much. I guess if the management company had told us to move our furniture elsewhere we would have definitely done that.

Ok. Here is what I dont like about this management company:

1. The house was furnished, they knew it and never told us that they were going to disarmed the beds and move them to the garage which is ok.

2. We had 2 new couches, now they are being thrown away because the tenants dog apparently spend most of its time on them and now they are stained, ripped and smell bad, the management company is not taking responsibility as they say the do not rent furnished homes but never told us so.

Hello, I've been renting my house with the se management company for 3 years as I'm in Venezuela and can't do much from there. Last time we rented, since we dont know the Florida Laws for renting a property, the company never told us we had to move our furniture somewhere else. So by the time the contract with the tenants expired and we came back to check on the house, we found out that our furniture was moved to the garage, beds and all, pieces were missing so we cannot put them back together, 2 sofas are ripped off by the tenants dog, and on top of all, the management company is charging us for the water and electric bill and reconnecting fee for a month because they had to reconnect it when they had a cleaning company come and "clean" the house. I was just wondering, can they do that? Please help!!!!!

The lady in the management company says that she told us about the fact that they do not rent furnished houses but what happened is that as soon as I went back to Venezuela, she had some people over to disassemble the beds and placed them in the garage without notifying us.

The Realtor is not managing my house anymore. Tenants moved out and I have not rented the house since. I guess it is my fault for not knowing anything about the laws.

Hello, I bought a house in Fl in 2009. Since I live in Venezuela and do not come to the USA very often I decided to rent the house and use a Realtor to manage the house as I couldn't do much from overseas. The house was furnished and even so they claim they told us they couldn't rent a furnished house, we are sure they didn't. A year went by and I came to the States to check on my house and I find out that the couches are ripped off by a dog, beds are in the garage with all the pieces spread apart, an edge trimmer and a ladder I had bought are missing. The management company claims that since the tenants moved out and we weren't there to check on the house before they leave that there is nothing they could do. I don't know much about the laws in here so I need an advice. Is the realtor right?? Is there any way I could get my money back for the couches and the other stuff missing or it is my fault for not being here?

Is the realtor supposed to be managing the property or are they just working to get you a new tenant?
