Hi all!

I have a short term rental in coastal North Carolina, that I opened up Back in October.

I have my calendar on Airbnb open for nine months out. I noticed that quite a few other hosts only keep their calendar open for three months from today’s date.

Is there a strategy behind this or is it typically just personal reasons? I’m already getting bookings for the high season and I’m excited to see those get locked in early and not miss out on the people that plan ahead.

what are your thoughts?

Hi all!

I have an inquiry on my Airbnb property and the person wants to rent direct for 1.5 months.

What do you all use for a background check/credit check for someone like this?

I usually use zillow for listed long term rentals but this property is not on Zillow.

Is there a site where I can pay a one time fee to run one background and not buy a monthly subscription?

Thanks!

Hi Gloria,

If it says “it is in a septic area” that likely means that there isn’t municipal water available, but does not explicitly mean there is or isn’t a tank already there.

Septic on the property means there is a tank somewhere but may not service every building. would want to get an existing tank inspected and find the permit with the county

I’m sure this is come up many times! Could not find a thread about it.

I’m getting my Airbnb set up and have been shopping on Amazon and was going to check out Costco.

Are there any other places where you all find good deals on things like linens, hygiene, items etc.? Items in bulk?

I’m with Bryce on this one ^^
If you have a specific property/area of Wilmington, let me know and I can give you some advice.

I’ve been here my entire life and have seen quite a few named storms.
