@Garrett Brown Several of these make no sense to me. For example, Isle Royale NP is an island in Lake Superior with only camping. To get there you take a boat from a small town in either Minnesota or Michigan. It receives about 25,000 visitors a year.

@Steven DeMarco Yep, lots of people promoting STRs as a way to easy wealth - and most have something to sell! It’s darn hard. Our first one, bought at a good price, still took 3 years to become profitable.

@Ned Carey I'm not sure the comment about the title insurance is accurate. I've moved property from my personal name to an LLP and the title company said the insurance is still good as long as the original purchasers are primary owners of the LLP. But perhaps it is different with an LLC as opposed to an LLP.

@John Underwood It is going to depend on the type of construction (old vs. frame), distance from a station, etc. Foremost is great but I don’t believe they are currently taking log homes. I am with Tower Hill, who has been good to work with.

@Justin R. REI Hub is excellent and inexpensive. I tried Quickbooks and found it cumbersome for real estate, then used Stessa and wasn't a fan. Landed on REI Hub and love it, as do the other investors who I suggested it to.

@Mike Grudzien Foremost is not a ‘vacation division’. It insures all types of risks but does do a nice job with rentals in many markets

@Nathan Gesner Spot in - I’ve asked the same question in several forums (give me an example of a successful lawsuit where proper insurance didn’t take care of it) and no one has been able to provide one.
