thanks for the replies Cindy and Susan! I met with Adam Hardy Wednesday night and it seems to be a good fit. Going to use his services going forward as he's a great guy.

Thanks again

Hi all,

Any recommendations for a good tax advisor in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in Minnesota? My last one moved out of state this past year. I only have a couple rentals for now but would like to form a relationship with a good tax accountant for the long term. And yes, I'm asking because I procrastinated and still need to file my taxes for this year :) any referrals or recommendations would be sincerely appreciated.

I would advise against it. There are some fringe parts that can be OK, but you'll always have some issues finding quality Tenants and my buddy who owned a home there was broken into many many times. Try fringe areas of NE Minneapolis where it's starting to be more trendy but still cheap. Some areas in S Minneapolis could be good too. Good luck!!

Hi Larry,

I have good contacts at most of the salon franchises here in the Midwest (both Regis and Great Clips are headquartered here), additionally I was born and raised in West Des Moines, if it's somewhere in central Iowa I may have some insight as well. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to pick my brain or see if I can do some digging for you.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good roofer or roofing company in the Saint Cloud, Minnesota area? I've got a single family rental house up there that has a worse roof than I thought and I need to get the asphalt shingle roof redone ASAP.

Thanks in advance for any referrals.

West End in St Louis Park is a great common ground. If we try to get some Wisconsin folks maybe Roseville makes more sense. I'd say Toby Keith's in St Louis Park or Stouts Pub in Roseville.

Welcome, Erik! I'm up in the Twin Cities and travel to Rochester a number of times a year. Kudos on running a successful restaurant operation. I lease and sell retail and restaurant properties for a living and see first hand how difficult the restaurant business can be, not to mention expensive!

Knowing the Rochester market a bit and how big of a boom town it is now and will be with the continued expansion of the Mayo clinic, it'd be a very safe investment. Not to mention its sizable enough and close enough to the Twin Cities where you could easily find good professional management should you end up leaving in a few years.

Welcome to BP and feel invited to contact me if you want to bounce any further Minnesota/Rochester ideas off of me.
