If you could go back to when you first started getting into real estate with the knowledge you have now. What would you do differently? What things have you learned over the years of being in real estate and investing?

@Edgar Ehrsam As a senior in college that wants to be in real estate. I would say no if you didn’t have a full ride and depending on your major. The cost and everything to just get a piece of paper that loses value each year and does not promises success, and will set you back from your goal in real estate. I would say no, yes education and educating yourself is very important but you do not need these institutional education to better yourself. There are so many other ways to better yourself.

@Theresa Harris I have only 3k saved up which could be a down payment if I can use a fha I believe and depending on how much the house is going for. Currently trying to find the owner of the house through the county.

Hello,

I am Mark Ledwell and am currently 22 years old just finishing up school getting my bachelor degree and working towards my relator license. I really love real estate and want to invest in assets that will generate income so I can be finically free. I am really looking into student rentals or multifamily houses and house hack for the next 10 years. I have been real excited to get started. I have read countless of books on investing and real estate, but I am looking for advice and stories where I can ask why and understand everything better where a book I cannot.  I am looking for advice on how to get started. I believe I have found a house that could become a great student rental. It is a duplex that is located close to downtown and close to the university in a low income area. I am located in the grand rapids, Michigan area and would love to talk to someone just to get ideas to get the ball rolling or just to get advice on how I can have the advantage when I get my license and able to pay for a down payment. I appreciate anything! Thank you so much!
