Post: Personal or portfolio loan?

We sold our primary residence (house hacking triplex) and are using the capital for 1 primary (SFD) and 3 rentals. We found 2 cash flowing properties by the same seller. Would it best to finance separately with conventional loans OR attempt a portfolio loan?

Or is it to early for a portfolio loan and we should wait for that for a later time when we have more properties?

Thanks!

Selling my house hack (owner occupied triplex). What number to I put on the 1099-s for gross proceeds? It it the actual gross proceeds OR is it only the portion of proceeds of the rental portion of the property?

@Ray Mulli I am researching options other than 1031 right now. I’d like to be able to hold the capital and not reinvest in real estate so soon - would like to wait for property values to drop. From what I understand the 1031 window timeframe wouldn’t really allow for that necessarily.

Looking for a CPA in Minneapolis, MN that could provide recommendations on how to beat protect income from the sale of my primary residence.

I have a dog only pet policy for my triplex (I live in one unit and rent out he other two). Am showing 1 and was asked if I would accept a parrot. Any downside to allowing one?
