@David M. interesting, I called and spoke to the county and treasurers dept earlier today, they both said there is a 6-year full reassessment coming up in 2024, and in between that they do a tax assessment update every 3 years, which is happening later this year. They said the update is based on assessed values in the neighborhood, recent sales, etc. I even posed a question directly to the treasury sept (“I see the taxes were $X based on an assessed value of $XX. Should I use that rate and project it for a $300k purchase price to estimate what my the new property taxes will be?” And they seemed to confirm, yes that’s correct.

@Jacob Repreza very helpful to see the historical taxes, thank you. I called and spoke to the county and treasurers office too, they were able to provide some more info as well.

Hello,

I’m new to RE investing and looking for my first investment property. I’m considering a triplex in Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. If purchase price is $300K, can you please help me understand what the property tax rate would be? From the Cuyahoga County tax estimator, when I select Cleveland Heights (I see 2 of them), the estimated tax is either $9,270 or $12,090.

Can you confirm if this is accurate? Is the tax based on purchase price or a different assessed value?

thank you!
