That is great information you have provided me Derreck, I appreciate it. I am going to start learning about wholesaling. I would like to eventually look into the MLS system, but I noticed that is a lot of competition there. I don't mind driving around looking for distressed properties. I can see myself doing that. Thank you very much.

Banks or auctions. I would like to buy properties under market value. Is that a good way to start? I am not sure. I've been reading about foreclosures and thought it'd be the best way to start

I am interested in starting off my real estate venture in buying foreclosed properties in Illinois, update them and keep them as rental units. I have yet to start and I was wondering if there was any advice (or warnings, lol) for first time foreclosure buyers? Thank you.

I am very interested in starting out in Real Estate. My goal is to start a real estate business. I would like to own a few rental properties, do fix and flips and wholesaling. I have been to numerous "workshops" that promise to teach you what you need to get started however, I am pretty sure there is a lot more information to learn then the 3-day training's they promise.

So my question is, are these workshops any good? Are they worth the money? Is there any other place were I can get educated that you found useful?

Also, I live in Illinois. I was wondering if I needed any type of license or certificate to do any real estate deals?

Thank you for your advice in advanced.
