Hi Phillip,

That's a really great idea Phillip I'm definitely going to do that. Thank you! Yes, you're right I do need to add a photo to the BP site I haven't put one up yet because I do want to post something up that as you said " delivers the message that I want to convey" but your right that is definitely the first step.

Hi Phillip,

Wow Phillip thank you for the tips! I will definitely take a look at the BNI website and check out some books. I'm definitely concentrating on the networking but also on the education which is obviously very important. I really liked the tips you gave me and I see the value in them as they definitely set the tone and create an impression.

I have one question: When creating a website is it safe to say that you should already have a solid understanding of your subject and experience before setting up a website? Considering it creates leads, I just want to make sure I'm fully prepared to handle the deals properly. I read somewhere that the first thing a beginner should do is create a website but I'm not sure if that is wise? I personally don't know if it's a good idea to set up a website without taking the necessary steps to become well educated and experienced in the field before taking a deal.

Hi Callum,

I'm glad I'm not the only one and that you can relate. It's often difficult to find someone who understands hence why it is so important to network. I left the seminar a bit confused but thanks to BP I have a virtual community that I can ask questions too. It really is a great resource. Thank you for the recommendation, the encouragement and the advice.

Hi Phillip,

I definitely want to be honest about my experience when I go networking I was just confused about what kind of approach I should take because of the "smart networking" seminar. Your right though, honesty is the best policy and I definitely feel more comfortable being honest anyways. Thank you Phillip for the advice it honestly made me feel better and I feel more comfortable going in now.

Hi Dale,

Thank you, that makes sense. I now realize that word of mouth is probably one of the most important if not effective marketing strategies and networking plays a vital role in that. I'll keep that in mind.

Hi Ibrahim,

That definitely clarifies things. I wasn't sure as a beginner if I would be walking into something that I wasn't prepared for. Of course I'd like to network and meet people but I also want to be of service otherwise I'd feel like I was wasting everyone's time. Thank you again Ibrahim!

Hi Robert,

I thought the same too but after the networking seminar I wasn't sure what sort of approach I should take. Of course it's good to have education and an understanding of your subject but to be an expert before networking I think is playing it too safe.

Hi Everyone,

I just returned from an event in regards to "Smart Networking". The speaker specified that before networking you should be an expert in your field so that people feel confident about you and can therefore refer you to others and also increase your business, which makes sense. However I've heard and have read that someone who is beginning in real estate should start networking because of the learning and relationship opportunities it presents. So my questions is: Is it important to already have a level of expertise in the field before networking?

Thank you!

Thank you Joe Snead! I appreciate the feedback and the honesty! Yeah I've seen here that wholesaling is attractive to a lot of people starting out so I can imagine how competitive it is. I do get annoyed with all the adds that claim that wholesaling is easy when I know that there is more to it than what it seems and everyone is trying to sell you books and strategies on wholesaling for a profit. BP is a good source and you're right there is nothing like experience to get you going. Thank you again Joe Snead!

Thank you J Scott! The last thing I want is to have a bad reputation with my buyers. I really appreciate the feedback that really does help. I thought of appraisal courses as a way to learn how to better asses the property and maybe shadowing one to get a better idea of what to look for. Again, thank you for the advice J Scott!
