Hey BP!

I'm an OOS investor from San Diego and I have a few questions pertaining to 2 small neighborhoods in Milwaukee. The areas in question are Lincoln Park and Havenwoods. Both show as "light blue" on the Trulia crime filter. Using streetview, Havenwoods looks  a little older but okay, whereas the street/adjacent streets for the Lincoln Park property I'm looking at looks pretty nice.

I've read to avoid North/NW of the city. Are either of these areas far enough away to not have too much headache factor associated?

I'll be reaching out to PM and realtors tomorrow, just figured I'd see what you all have to say. Thanks!

Loan,

I was in the same boat as Anthony; contributing to hit my annual TSP max for the past few years (although deployments made that rather painless). I'm backing off my TSP (still doing 15% for now) to start saving for future down payments but will continue maxing my Roth IRA in January.

The situation will dictate, however. I have money on hand to get my feet wet with a few SFHs. Once that is gone, I'll consider backing off my contributions some more (down to the employer match limit) and perhaps reducing Roth IRA as well.

@Anthony Gayden Nice! I'm just happy to finally get a match in the DoD.

I lessened my TSP (military 401k) for this very reason so I'm going to go with, yes it's a great idea and makes brilliant sense!

@Tom Murray Hey, man. Thanks!

I believe I did. I replaced workout music with podcasts a few months ago so they all kind of blend together. I'll have to give it a refresh listen tomorrow.

@Kevin Yang Potentially. I'm hoping to be moving East in a few months. If I get a new set of orders in SoCal, I'd definitely be interested in buying a mild project house to live in/renovate and either flip or rent upon leaving (Escondido, Temecula, Murrieta areas)

Thanks for the offer and I'll be sure to keep you in mind.

@Clayton Mobley Thanks for the info! I'm getting set up with a TK provider that comes highly recommended from people I personally know whom are far more knowledgable than I. I'll ensure I put in my due diligence despite my inexperience, and I'm sure I'll be pinging BP along the way for sanity checks.

@Ozzy Smith That would be great! Dayton is where I’m looking for my non-TK.
