@Troy Gandee So do you suggest using Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae loans for a newbie investor to get started compared to those FHA 203k loans?

I am currently looking at a 3 family property that does need work and I was thinking of using the 203k loan to help acquire the property and have it renovated. Any suggestions  or advice definitely would be appreciated.

Hey BP,

I'm getting ready to start my real estate investing journey but I would like to partner up with a buy & hold investor in the Boston Metro areas or  I am a first-time home buyer. I have a Homeowners 101 certificate. I have been to a few reias. Any recommendations or advice is definitely welcomed. If anybody is interested please let me know. Thanks BP!

I also went to their 3 day Summit But I soon realized that they're just another guru. If it wasn't for me to find Biggerpockets I'd probably be stressing over the fact to find the money "to build my business" with FB which is 25k. No I'm all set I would rather use that 25k into investing in my first deal my education will be the experience. Welcome to BP!

Final Score: BP 2:FB 0

@Alberto De jesus Welcome to BP!

How can I go about purchasing my first short sale income property home from my parents? The problem is I don't think I have enough funds for a down payment. Should I look into private lenders? If yes how long are they usually set up for? 30 year fixed loans ?

Thank You to: @Matthew Dovner, @James Wise, @Shaun Reilly and to all of Biggerpockets

Oh yes I definitely agree that BP is a great place. Since the first time I Googled my first question couple months ago about Real Estate Investing I been glued to the website ever since. So much great information and the most amazing REI community by far. So after downloading most of the podcast shows I been learning a lot.

I have to admit tho, that first question was about a real estate seminar that I went to and I was trying to figure out whether they legit or not. Well after the forum about Fortune Builders I became a little bit more knowledgeable about what they were about. I have to say they do seem like a great company but I don't have the kind money for the education that they were offering.

So at the moment I have one of their representatives that has been contacting me about what to do to start my business. But I think his Intentions are to get me to join their mastery program. So I made up mind and I have decided to say goodbye to FB and say hello to BP instead.

I'm looking forward to meeting many great investors and I'm very excited to learn everything there is about the business.
