Ok yup, Property Management business might not be the way to go. Back to the drawing board.

Thank You all for the advice. I wasn't planning on being a real estate agent, but I might just have to do it part-time for 3 years to get my broker's license.

I guess I'll have to exercise some patience and start small, or just take another route.

@Vanessa Regalado if you don't mind me asking, how did you get started?

Thanks, @Nick Rutkowski

I'm definitely going to think bigger with my money and look into commercial and check in with you later.

I'm linking my other post here, I don't know if that's allowed, but if you guys have the chance, please take a look and leave your 2 cents: https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/109/topics/830133-property-management-entrepreneur

Thank you

Hey, once this quarantine is over, I'll have a few grand saved up, and I was planning on using it to buy a house hack property, but recently, I've been thinking of starting a Property Management Company. I think it'd be a good way to build relationships with investors and contractors while making money, so that maybe I could use those connections for flipping/wholesaling and whatever other RE investing that crosses my path. I'm located in New Jersey, and you need a broker license to have a property management company, and I don't have any type of real estate license but I looked it up and I think it's possible to get my RE license and work under a broker and use their license. So I have 2 questions:

1. What do you guys think of starting a property management company? Is there a better way to build up capital, while building relationships with contractors, investors, agents, etc.?

2. Do you know of a way I could start a PM company without waiting 3 years for my broker's license in New Jersey?

Thanks for reading & thanks for the advice

Thank You all for the advice and recommendations. I'll be going through the resources available here, and trying to learn as much as I can from the forums.

@Nick Rutkowski Ok, I hear you, but I'm nowhere near the point of having the money to invest in something like that, and I want to get out of my parent's house. I was actually thinking of starting a RE related business to build up some capital while building relationships with potential "Team members" (Contractors, Investors, Inspectors like @Abel Curiel mentioned in his post). I'm thinking Property Management or wholesaling

Hey everyone, my name's Maliq, and I'm from Mercer County, New Jersey. I graduated from college recently and I've been living at home, but I'm finally looking to move out soon. I read Craig Curelop's book on house hacking and I've been planning on doing that once this whole lockdown is over.

I plan on being a Billionaire and in the book, Craig mentioned that one of the people who house hack do it so that they can have income while they work at startup companies where they won't get paid, but have the potential to blow up big time and that struck a chord with me, so I'm working on doing something similar to that.

I'm here because I want to network/connect with people who have the same mindset as me and hopefully learn something new.

Thanks for having me.
