Thank you @Larry Fried - yes, after a little research today I don't think we'll go for the multifamily and looks like a turnkey co. in SFR is a better option. Many thanks for your time and advice!

Thank you guys!  There's a lot to think about and you've given me some great advice.   I think we're going to study Jacksonville FL - I just found out that a (real estate) friend has moved there...

Hi All,

My husband and I want to buy rental properties for our future/retirement, we currently work overseas and won't be moving back to the States until 2020.  

Is it crazy to buy a property when we're not in the country?  We want to buy cash (something under $120,000) but don't know where yet - still learning...  Could anyone give us advice on buying a multifamily from overseas and how we would find a trustworthy PM?
