Sorry, maybe I’m being overly cautious. Thank you all

The girl not the tenant parked***

It’s a girl, the tenant also has a boyfriend already. I know she’s allowed guests but something is fishy wish this specific one. First who meets a total stranger.. during the pandemic... in their bedroom.. the tenant also parked far away which is odd. I’m not okay with this girl bringing strangers to my house.. and she never informed me of it. She’s moving out because I gave her a notice to.. so she may be planning something..

Hi guys, my tenant brought a complete stranger to her room today. The girl came and said “nice to meet you” to the tenant, that’s how I knew she was a complete stranger. Before leaving, the girl said to the tenant “where do you want to meet”. And they were talking quietly in her room. Tenant usually talks really loudly on the phone or when she has friends over. This tenant is moving out next week..

What do you make out of this?

@Carleton C. just don’t understand why she would lie. She’s only been here for two months, so I don’t know if she’s gonna be a good tenant or not. She refused to sign a lease at first but then agreed to a month to month contract.. would I be able to give her a 30 day notice since she’s month to month? I know that if she doesn’t leave I can’t do anything

@James Mc Ree I found her through kijiji, everything was through messages. She signed the contract when she came and that’s it. I know I’m stupid..

I’m living with my tenant who said she works at a mall the first time I asked her where she works. Second time I asked she said she works at a restaurant and specifically said she works night shifts and evening shifts. I don’t think that’s true because when I looked up the restaurant it said it closes at 8 pm and opens at 12 pm. She goes out between 5-9 pm and comes back at 7:30 am. I’m afraid she works at a hospital and is lying to me about where she works because of corona. Don’t think she’s a nurse but could be a PSW. I need to find out so I know that she’s not potentially exposing me to the virus.

@James Wise but after this whole pandemic thing ends, would I be able to ask them to repay for the months they’d skipped? And if they refuse would I be able to evict and have the collection agency deal with them? Of course I’d give them time to repay..

Would you allow your tenant to skip rent this month because of the virus? And would they have to repay you once all is good?
