You know, I have actually considered placing a fully functional yurt on the top of the hill and off the grid near the back of the property. There is an old farm road that makes it's way to the top and it has a beautiful view of Canada.  If you are interested in yurts, one place that has amazing yurt plans is this website:

That is a cute slogan!

@Roy N., Thanks for looking for that book, that would be very helpful for my further education.

I guess some of the reason I'm interested in Canadian properties is because there are a couple of regions that I love. Two of the top ones are Quebec City (@Philippe Busque) and Charlottetown, PEI. Don't get me wrong Roy, Fredericton is pretty cool as well (I dig Queen and King street)!

From what I've been reading there could be other ways of investing in real estate and properties and perhaps American capital could be leveraged in some way to become a win-win for investors. Though, first things first is to become educated on what the rules, laws, and regulations are in both countries and the tax ramifications between the two.

Thank you both for your help and input. Vive Le Joie!

PS. Pardon the ignorance, but what is a 10Cap?

Thanks @Michael S.. Hoping to learn a ton!

Hello Bigger Pockets Community,

I live close to New Brunswick and Quebec, Canada and was curious on some of the challenges / opportunities of investing in real estate in Canada. Where can I get more education about this topic?

Thanks,
Luke

Good Day Bigger Pockets Crew,

I am just starting on the adventure of property management and real estate. Two years ago my wife and I purchased a beautiful 30 acre property in Caribou, Maine. I am pretty darn busy with my full time job, but would like to capitalize and tap into the vast potential in this former potato field / lightly forested property.

I guess I really don't know where to start. The house is a beautiful chalet style house (which I live in), but would really like to let farmers and other's manage and work the property while I'm busy at my job. The other thing I've been thinking about is renting part of the house out to other professionals to help lower the expense of the mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc.

Thanks for the help and glad to join the community!

Sincerely,

Luke
