@Cheryl Packham

Thank you for the quick response! Not sure if you would have info on this, but how are the possible list of contractors looking in the surrounding areas (i.e Fort Collins)? Also, are there any real estate investment clubs/meetings in Cheyenne? Sorry for all the questions! I'm going to be stationed at FE Warren soon and thought i'd get a feel of the RE environment in Cheyenne before moving.

Hello BP!

I am currently looking in the Cheyenne, WY area for my first investment property (preferably a residential multifamily) . I am in the process of trying to acquire contacts in the area seeing that I have never lived there before. I wanted to get a few referrals for investor friendly agents specializing in new investors. Also, a list of contractors/handymen would be great as well. Any help that can be offered would be greatly appreciated!

Dear BP member community,

I am a brand-smacking new member of the BiggerPockets community and thought I'd introduce myself to everyone! To start out, my name is Luke Preslar, and I am originally from Saint Louis, MO... Go Cardinals! I recently graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and am now stationed at Vandenberg AFB near Santa Maria, CA. I've been here for about two months and absolutely love the area!

Now to the good stuff. As you could probably tell from my opening line, I am 100% new to real estate investing and just recently started doing research on the subject. I have become obsessively hooked on the topic and continue to do more and more research every day! Considering my research, I have become greatly interested in single family and multiplexes. With a full-time job, I believe a buy and hold strategy would work best for my situation; however, any real estate investment advice would be greatly appreciated! I have come up with a few real estate goals since starting (posted on my profile) but ultimately, my most important goal is to acquire enough real estate that produces the cash flow/passive income needed to ensure that I can sleep well at night knowing my family is taken care of financially in case something unfortunate happens to me while serving my country.

With that, I would like to finish this post off saying that I am extremely excited about the future in real estate investing, and I'd like to say thank you to all of you who take time out of your busy day to help us newbies try to gain an understanding on such an interesting and exciting subject as real estate investing! Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Luke Preslar (aka "a newbie")
