@Joshua Muniz I like areas north of downtown and in areas with cta or metra transportation within walking distance.

@Lumi Ispas Next purchase will be an investment. I currently live in owner occupant 2-Flat. Finding properties in bad shape in the up and coming areas is my strategy. Then I can utilize my construction skills and relationships to get them fixed up very cost efficiently.

I have been in the construction industry my whole life and have spent the last 10 years as a project manager for a home builder. I have a lot of experience preparing construction budgets, schedules and managing the work from permit to finish. With my intentions in real estate, I purchased a 2- Flat as my first residence knowing I would always want to have an investment property to utilize my skills in construction remodeling. I updated the property and added amenities and now have great tenants and live with a very small portion of the mortgage.

Last year I left my position as a project manager and I started an interior demolition business that has begun to serve real estate investors/ developers in Chicagoland area. I see the money everyone else is making in real estate and can't sit back knowing I can make some too.

I hope to acquire a few 3-6 unit multi-family properties over the next couple years with a partner of mine.
