@Cassi Justiz

Thank you for the info!

I let my clients know they can reach out to me anytime, and communicate as much as possible. I’ve began sending out a 13 page selection sheet with the vendors and their options.

I’m looking into BuilderTrend, though I’ve tried CoConstruct, but I found it to be more laborious than just delegating over the phone. But now that the business is growing I believe I’m going to need a good program to be able to see the jobs all in one place.

There are many horrors stories about custom builds, in just working to hedge the potential issues, and always communicate with my client whether good or bad.

Thanks again.

Hello everyone,

I’m a home builder in the Oklahoma metro area, as I have been for just over six years. I’ve built my business slowly since I graduated high school.

Business has grown mostly by referrals over the years and I’ve recently hired a superintendent to help.

I’ve been going through growing pains and learning to work on the business rather than in my business so I’m going over the E-Myth Revisited.

I’d like to better my current process as for systems of communication with my:

superintendent (we have meetings every morning to go over current 9 projects)

Homeowners (custom homes) - keeping them up-to-date with updated cost sheets and scheduling

Subcontractors - keeping them on schedule

If anyone has experience, or really enjoyed their home building process with their own custom builder I’d really like to hear about any proven strategies.

Thanks!

@Jeremy Gengenbach Just a thought, but I believe it would help tie back into the neighborhood by replacing the red wood with a cedar of some sort (depending on rehab budget) to bring some earth tones back into the house. Then possibly an SW urban Bronze.
