Hi Hubert and Kerry,

are either of you connected with the US forces? If so, you can use your LQA / OHA to purchase a house. Stuttgart is expensive. I opted to commute from Kaiserslautern when I worked in Stuttgart. We bought a house that way in 1999 but I got reassigned back to the US in 2002 so we have been renting to military and government civilians since then. However, If you do that, you have to file a German tax return.
