Is there a threshold for when you have to pay capital gains tax? For example do you have to make $100K before you get hit with capital gains? Thanks!

@Paul Ritter I think you could do it if you had a really good screening process in place and it was cleared with the park manager. Check out John Fedro's page and his website and you should find some good information there. He was also on an episode of the BP podcast that was really good. Good luck!

I have only been to one in our area. A speaker was selected and the group announced the speaker and topic several weeks before the date on the Facebook page (and it was posted on their website). Our meetings are held in an open room with some chairs and tables and there is a screen for the presentation. It was very casual and laid back and there were time for questions after. The speaker stayed for a while to meet people individually and answer any other questions. Hope this helps!

@Andrew Fielder Thank you! We appreciate your input. Any idea how investors are taxed when they put money into a real estate investment and when they make money on their investment?

Hey BP!

A family member has decided they want to invest some money in our real estate business to help it grow and to also (hopefully!) get some returns. We have an LLC set up and really want to start growing the business this year. She has come to us with the desire to invest a monthly amount that can used towards purchasing new assets or improving ones we have so we can increase rents. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does she need to be a member of our LLC? What kind of tax benefits/negatives are in it for both sides?

@James Wilcox right!?!?! I don't know how many banks I called and left messages and NO ONE called me back. I eventually had to walk in to one, which worked out better anyways, but some common courtesy just to return a phone call would be nice!
