Congratulations, @TJ Gray! That's exciting. The current plan is for my wife and I to landlord ourselves. In time that may change, but we are still in the education / planning phase.

The concept is simple enough, but we need to focus on learning to properly analyze potential acquisitions. I'm doing a lot of reading and digging into the forums. I typically like to learn by doing, but we want to do the proper research before pushing forward.

No analysis paralysis- just due diligence!

What area is your duplex in? Do you have a plan in place to put tenants in place?

Hi TJ Gray . I'm currently looking to get into acquiring single family dwellings to hold as rental properties but plan to expand to flips in the future. Based on everything I'm researching and common sense, specializing in one area is the way to go. I'd like to line up a few rental properties as long term investments and get that process down before expanding to flips. What is your area of focus?

I just recently started my journey into real estate investment and am currently in the education and planning phase. I am currently based in Granger, IN, own a SFD that I rent out, and am looking to add to that.

Hopefully there is some activity in this forum- I'm interested to see what others in my area are doing.

Thank you, @Arnell Enriquez. I'm looking forward to interacting with people and learning all I can.

Hello everyone-

My name is Luke Robertson and I am just starting out my journey through real estate investment. My wife and I currently own our home and 1 rental property. We are looking to educate ourselves further and grow our rental property count in an effort to generate income while we still hold our full time jobs.

The rental property wasn't an acquisition, but our old home we decided to keep when we moved in February of this year. It was a good move as it is generating ~$200 per month from the tenant and in a very good area to rent out for weekend Notre Dame Football home games in the fall.

My wife works for a commercial real estate firm and is licensed and I am looking to get licensed as well to make the process more seamless. I feel her being licensed gives us an initial leg up along with some of the access she has to her firm's properties as investment opportunities.

I came to find BiggerPockets.com after searching for real estate investment books on Amazon and finding The Ultimate Beginners Guide as a top rated book. I then broke into the podcast and am here now!

I'm looking forward to getting involved in the community and seeing where things take us!

Wow- Great work! It looks fantastic. I'm just starting out and your story instills confidence! Good for you.
