I was wanting to get your opinion on branding and marketing.

I have two websites, one for our Real Estate Business, which is used for the property management side of our business, which has our available properties for rent, applications, testimonials, etc. and another site I created for "We Buy Houses".

As of right now, the two are branded totally separate and have separate names.

My We Buy Houses site is my personalized called, "My Name Buys Houses". My property management site, is the name of our LLC. The two sites are completely different and could not be mistaken for the same company.

I created the My Name Buys Houses thinking it might be more personal using my name instead of a company name. But now, I'm getting ready to send out marketing material and I'm seconding guessing whether the "We Buy Houses" site should be different than our company site.

I'm thinking it may be good to have the name as our primary company as a link where people can receive more information about who we are as buyers, renters, investors, sellers, etc.

I don't want to start doing a lot of branding with the We Buy Houses website name and then end up with having to manage two brands, when one could have worked.  Which would mean different business cards, web site, logo, etc.

It seems like it may be good to also have all the link juice from Search Engines pointing at one site instead of two.

Just wanted to see if this has come up before ( I couldn't find it on the forums) and see what your opinion was.

Thank you!

Lou

Post: My domain name says "Homes" instead of "Houses" bad?

I'm in the process of building a new web site. The domain name I wanted wasn't available -- xxxyyyHouses(dot)com

- so I went with xxxyyyHomes(dot)com.

Is this bad that I used "homes" due to people attaching more sentimental value to the word than houses? Or is this inconsequential?

I could go with xxx-yyy-Houses(dot)com. Should I do this instead?

Thanks,
LOU

I second James Vermillion and Craig Sturgill - the vinyl stirpwood is made by "Allure Flooring". I can't testify that it's great for 110K rehab, but we use it in rentals. We're not using carpet anymore.

I think it exclusive to home depot. Most people will lay it for 1.00 sq. ft.
It comes in many colors. Some good colors - Lime Oak, Bamboo, Cork, Dark Oak and Light Oak.

Hi all (or ya'll as we say it) - I'm a new member from Nashville, TN. area. My full time job is in software sales / marketing and project management. I've been doing this for over 10 years. I love to Golf, play Volleyball, and hang out with my wife and two boys.

A little interesting thing about me - I owned and operated a Pizza Business for 10 years. Purchased it in college and sold it 10 yrs. later. That was a lot of fun when I was young - I had a lot of friends who didn't go hungry!

We've been investing in Real Estate for 6+ years and have accumulated three rental properties, all multi-families. We've also invested in other fellow real estate deals through self directed IRAs.

We'd are looking for a property to rehab right now. I thought we found one yesterday, but apparently the Wholesaler had committed it to someone, so we didn't get to make an offer on it. Kind of disappointed, but moving onto the next one.

I remember BiggerPockets from several years ago, but didn't really engage much or that serious about Real estate investing.

We were on a cruise this summer, and I started listening to the podcast. Wow - very impressed - fresh, informative content. So, for the last 5 weeks I have been on here quite a bit and look to be active and engage with other fellow RE investors. If you are in Nashville and this pops up on your radar, please send me a message and maybe we can connect. I enjoy meeting other investors and sharing ideas! See you on the forums!

Best,
Lou Roberts!

Actually on the closing documents, I'll scan the entire package. That may be overkill but that's what I do now.

If you kept the HUD and Deed, I think you'd be fine. However, I scan all my documents using a ScanSnap from Fujitsu. Then, I have a digital copy of everything w/o all the paper.

We started scanning everything since first of the year. Now, we can do a search whenever we need to find something. I also use Evernote and Google Drive, so I can find most of our documents when I'm away from home.

Thanks,
Lou
