Hi everyone! This will be my first meetup and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm new to REI and in the process of learning a lot - reading books, listening to podcasts, researching properties, learning how to analyze properties, driving for $$, etc.
I know networking is a large part of this so I'm excited to meet other newbies and hopefully some seasoned investors to continue learning and growing.

@Laura Shinkle I certainly appreciate that! We will likely be working with about $10-20k for a down payment on our first property (depending on how much it is and whether it needs repairs, etc.).

Are you involved in any real estate investing in the Charlotte area yourself?

Definitely - my boyfriend and I attended the 90 Day Webinar last night and it was awesome, certainly added some fuel to my fire. 

Ideally, we are looking in areas close to South Park/Plaza Midwood. Right now, we are planning to do more of the 
"house hacking" route and would live in the property and rent out other units/rooms so looking for something close to both of our jobs which are in those areas (as we would prefer a shorter commute).

Hi all -

I'm a newb to REI and have been doing a lot of research lately - podcasts, books, forums, articles, etc. I'm excited to be here and start building my network and continuing to learn more.

A little bit about me - I'm a college grad originally from west Michigan. I just moved to Charlotte, NC about 8 months ago. I work a day job in Human Resources for a small firm in the Charlotte area and I do enjoy it but ultimately, I want to be my own boss and work for myself. I want financial freedom and I am going to achieve that with real estate investing. 

I am going to buy my first property this year and I'm here for any/all advice, suggestions, etc. Once I get my feet wet, I'm ready to take off and hopefully help others as I learn more and gain some experience and traction in the real estate game. 

Again, so excited to be here and can't wait to connect with many of you!
