Hi everyone!

I am a newbie to the real estate game, and currently looking to get into rental properties.  My initial goal is a 3 or 4plex, but I am hoping to build my portfolio relatively rapidly.  I am a scientist in Cambridge right now, and I would really like to have more job flexibility so I don't need to commute 4 hours a day!  Current area of interest is Worcester and surrounding areas up to about an hour's drive, although that is flexible for the right property.    I would love to meet more people in real estate, and I plan to attend as many local events as I can. I am also interested in learning more about the wholesaling process, and would love to talk to folks doing that.   I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from the bigger pockets website and from all of you.   Thanks and take care.

Hi Ken.  Thanks for this!  Looks like it should be fine then.  I will be applying this week and if I run into any problems I will update this thread.

My husband and I are looking to get into investment property and would like to take a HELOC out on our home to do so. I moved into the home he owned when we got married but my name is not on the deed. I have better credit and income, however, so we would like to take the HELOC out jointly to get a better rate. Can we take out a joint HELOC if only his name is on the deed to the house or do we have to go through the process of adding me first? Thanks in advance!
