Hi @RubelinP - Thanks!  I will check that out.H

Hi @Jo-AnnLapin - I had tried to call you yesterday.  I think we kept playing telephone tag!  I saw on another post you mentioned "farm your area".  What is that & how do I do it?

Thanks ladies!  Nice to meet you on BP!

Hello BP Community!

I am new to REI and living in Chico, CA. I'd like to get started in REI through wholesaling/co-wholesaling, do it virtually also, and eventually branch out to flipping, buy & hold, and other REI strategies. I must say I am LOVING the BP platform!

I am FULL of questions too!  Such as, do I need to start out in Chico, or can I start in another nearby area?  What does it mean to "farm" my area, and how do I do it?  I have not lived in Chico very long - how can I learn about the market and different neighborhoods here?  If one does not have a lot of money to start with, what is a good strategy to use (besides wholesaling)?

2016 is going to be a GREAT year for me - the year I get well on my way to becoming financially free! I never want to have to worry about money ever again. I don't want to worry about not being prepared for retirement either. I would like to travel the world - with my little dogs, too! I want to be in a position to help others, instead of me always needing the help. So that is why I am getting into REI, and how I found Bigger Pockets.

I am intelligent and highly motivated - and if I can help anyone out with any tasks, such as getting pictures of properties, whatever - just to help get my feet wet - please get in touch with me!  I would LOVE to help out!

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

Oops - left some stuff out!

I used to work in the legal field in Southern CA, and completed the paralegal program at USD. So I do have a little knowledge about RE. I will be taking classes and getting my RE license soon, and it is my goal to become a broker one day. (I know it's not necessary, but it's something I'd like to do.)

I am hopelessly ADDICTED to HGTV, and I CANNOT WAIT to flip my first house so I can do the designing!

I love animals and have 2 small dogs - Pomeranians. I'd like to own some horse property in CA some day because I've always wanted a horse, ever since I was a little girl!

Ok, that's it for now. ;-)
