Hi Joel,
Thank you for your reply. Very nice of you and I appreciate learning about your background.
Yes, I do realize that while I have always wanted a restaurant - I really don't want to invest money and sweat equity. So I have resigned myself to only going to restaurants I love!
After having read some information about real estate investing -- and the many niches and approached -- I was thinking that I get could my real estate feet wet by wholesaling. Yes, I have lots more to learn, but I was thinking that would be a good vehicle to both get some experience, not risk any money and perhaps make some money all while meeting new contacts.
So 2 questions - if/when you have time and if you don't mind -- do you, given your experience, think that is a dumb idea that only someone very new to this would even think of? And what credentials do I need - or would you recommend?
No worries at all if you prefer not to reply. But many sincere thanks if you do.
Regards,
Leslie

Hello to all on BP site,
My name is Leslie and I just discovered and joined this community. It's true that I don't have any real estate experience (other than buying my home), but recently I've been seriously thinking about real estate investing - so discovering this online community this morning has been serendipitous!
I currently work for a high-tech software development company outside of Boston. I enjoy my job - and adore my team - but have always dreamed of having my own business. Yes, it's true, I always envisioned a restaurant in my dreams, but I realize that I am better suited for the type of business.
I am glad to have found this community and am looking forward to getting engaged. Already I am amazed at the depth and breadth of information that is available on this site -- and I am impressed with the sense of community and involvement I am seeing.
Cheers,
Leslie
