what was the first thing you did after becoming a real estate agent?

It would depend on your goals, what kind of agent do you want to be? What did you home to become by being an agent? Answering those questions will give you direction to know what to do. For me, I knew I wanted to work on building out a listing business for luxury homes so I got to work cold calling luxury home owners and building my brand as a luxury agent. Give yourself a North Star to make your decisions by. Does doing (blank) bring me closer to my North Star.

i'm looking to be a more investor focused agent. i would like to own a handful of properties within the next five years and have a six figure net income through them. I am very new to the industry. i'm wondering if i should join an investor focused agency or go the more residential route initially. I go to some REI meet ups and from what i've heard from other agents/investors is that i should propbably start residential in order to build a "proof of concept" essentially to prove to investors my worth. Most investors have their agents already, it'd be unlikely they'd trust/go with a brand new agent. Do you have any thoughts on this?
