Upon reading this I had to search for an update once I saw the dates.   For those who don't know, sad to say the worst happened.

At least the family can have closure.

This just popped up in my newsfeed. Being that I'm essentially a novice (having only recently acquired my 1st SFH and being on track to purchase a 2nd), I'm curious as to how you guys see the landscape of the rental market (particularly as it pertains to the "mom and pop" investors) being affected by investment companies like Blackstone (with others sure to follow) supposedly targeting rental homes? http://www.wsj.com/articles/wall-street-as-landlord-blackstone-going-public-with-a-10-billion-bet-on-foreclosed-homes-1481020202

I was having issues logging in, that's what took so long to reply.

@Mark Graffagnino I'll definitely check out that website in a few moments and see what I can dig up.
@Andrew Bauer I'll also keep this in mind once we've made some more solid decisions.  Much appreciated!

Hello BP, novice here. I live in Atlanta and will be doing SFH flips here and in other cities/states, and I'm also looking to invest in MFH down the line. I'm looking for someone who's familiar with business structure and asset protection. I've got a few questions but searching online, both for information and individuals, has still left me confused. If any of you are familiar with this or know someone who is, I'd greatly appreciate a one-on-one conversation to better explain my position, objectives and concerns. Thank you!

I also recommend the BiggerPockets podcast #108 It touches on this topic in a bit of detail.

Facebook groups!

Many many MANY areas have Buy/Sell/Trade marketplaces on Facebook (thank ridiculous eBay fees) and if you search your city/area/state with words like "homes" or "rent" etc, you'd be surprised what groups you may find (make sure you narrow search results to just groups).  I've found groups with literally hundreds of people posting what areas they were looking for, what rent they were able to pay, etc.

@TJ Patton

Personally I wouldn't do HML unless you were sure you could make that money back relatively fast. I don't know what your history or experience is but as I'm new to the game, my partner (who is super familiar with the Flint area) and I are scared to death at getting our feet wet on our first property with HML so we're taking a different approach to flipping altogether. As far as capital we are using a combination of cash and credit.
