Post: eliminating smell in older house renovation

Was heading in the direction of coating the 'underside' of the house with Kilz. Have removed all fabrics, carpeting, etc. Replacing most of the vinyl flooring and repainting interior...hoping that improves without taking everything to the studs. Thank you both for input.

I am renovating an older small house. The house has an 'off' smell, I suspect from years of renter traffic and who knows what. There is nothing obvious creating it, I've been under the house. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about how to get rid of this? Thank you!
