@Nolan Dortch Welcome to BP!  If you haven't found the podcasts yet they are EXTREMELY informative and very motivating/inspiring.  It's under the education section at the top of BiggerPockets.

Montgomery has a REIA that meets every third Monday of each month. The leader is Jeremiah Brewder and they start at 6:00 usually. I'll send you his email so you can ask him to put you on his email list and he sends out reminders a few days before each meeting.

In Auburn, AL we just started a small group and will be meeting again on Wed., June 1st if you are interested.  Connect with me if you want more info to the Auburn meeting.  We will make a thread with more info soon so we can have as many local investors there as possible.

 There is a link to start you own BP blog in the top right corner https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs

Also, thanks for the encouraging article and the fantastic tips above on finding deals off the MLS. I am glad you found BP because you are already contributing immensely.

@Ashley Waid Welcome to BP!  it is an amazing resource.

If you ever want to tag someone in a post (like I did for you) to alert them of your response just type @ then start typing their name and it eventually a box will pop up by the @ for you to click.

The podcasts are AWESOME and the site also has  in-depth guides for new investors and their are so many beneficial blog posts as well too numerous to mention.  I will also link the Real Estate Agent's Guide for working with investors since you are pursuing your license.

Hey everyone. We have a large training room at my workplace, and my director just gave me the OK to use it for our meetings. The address is 1900 Cunningham Drive, Opelika, AL 36801, and it is located very close to the Opelika Walmart. It is a big brick building with the letters AMSTI on the front, just before you get to the railroad tracks on the Walmart side of the tracks.

What does everyone think about meeting there next Tuesday around 5pm?

@Landon Kemp @Evan Crawford @Wayne Hinton @Jimmie Dickey @Joey Tatara

I will be there.

@Helen Kirk @Landon Kemp @Jimmie Dickey @Wayne Hinton

Let's do this!  I'm down for us all getting dinner and/or at a library first to discuss long term goals.

What weekday (or weekend) should we all try and meet up?  Any good suggestions on where?

I can do it any weekday 4:00 or later.

I also called the Lewis Cooper Jr Memorial Library (in Opelika) and they have a meeting room that is available for $20 which can reserve the room for us to meet.  They close at 7:30 on Mon./ Tue. and close at 6:00 on all the other weekdays.  It is just a thought and is not as good as the Chamber of Commerce idea since the library costs more if we meet once every month.

Welcome to BP @Landon Kemp

Here is a link to the thread for the meetup in Columbus, GA (about 45 - 60 minutes from Auburn depending on your location) that @Helen Kirk mentioned.

 https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/521/topics/15...

I believe they meet on the first Tuesday at the Keller Williams on Veterans Pkwy at 6:30 but all that info. needs to be confirmed via the thread above. Feel free to connect with me if you ever want to talk REI. Best of luck.
