@Ashlie Cantu we pay monthly but we do sign a lease so the owner knows our move out date. There is a lease on furnished finder that owners use so we’ve signed that before. It’s pretty standard. They haven’t asked to see pay stubs or background check. It’s more like an Airbnb situation, pretty quick and casual. You could absolutely ask to see their contract though which will show their pay package breakdown include stipends for housing. I call the listing, try to FaceTime then to see the unit, and then usually PayPal them a deposit to hold it for us. Contracts are 3-6 months and about a month before a contract ends we sometimes have an option to extend so your tenant may stay longer than that.

My fiancé and I are travel physical therapists and use furnished, short term rentals all the time for work. We are also thinking about buying a condo up here in Anchorage as a short term rental property since a lot of travel healthcare workers come for 3-6 month contracts. Arizona is definitely a big one too! That’s a popular state for a lot of travel therapists/nurses so I’d imagine you could get it booked fairly easily.  Some of the recruiting companies provide housing in long term stay hotels so hospitals may do the same. We find our housing on furnishedfinder.com. It’s usually specific to healthcare/professionals so you know it’s not someone just renting for vacation. We also find housing on Facebook groups for travel therapists where people can post their rentals. I would use furnished finder or Facebook groups like travel nurse housing to see what people charge and how often they’re filled.
