@Cordell Hinton-Brown

 Great idea for the Houston area. I'm looking forward to seeing how this grows.

In response to the meet up here in Houston, @Charles Nguyen sets up a meet every month at Pub Fiction starting at 6:30 pm - 9 pm or so. The next meet is on the 16th of this month and I will put the link for the thread he created for this months meet up

Check this out guys and we would love to see you there and feel free to bring friends along to help this build and grow.

See you guys there!

I agree with Kevin, every podcast and story you will read here says that it's better to have half a deal instead of all of no deal.

Sounds like a plan Nick. I'll keep an ear to the ground. Let me know if you get a final answer on coming out here and the schools you're considering. I might be able to give you some insight on your options.

Awesome, always nice to have another brother in arms around to talk to!

I think for that price range you should be ok, but I'm not sure how much the VA will authorize around here. I know that you can go up to a 4 unit and that they will take up to 75% of the rental income to add to your personal income when getting the loan. I haven't used my VA loan yet but my grandfather used his and he said it was decently smooth of a process.

How much are you looking to spend? The Rice area can be a little pricey. Also, what branch? Army Vet here.

@Jordan Decuir,

Good call on finding a partner to invest with. I don't know if you are plugged into the Meet-ups yet but the best advice I can give is to come out and meet others that are doing what you are planning and how to do it smoothly. The next one is on the 18th and it's free. Come check it out and get some great advice.

May i suggest coming out to the Houston Meet-up that is happening on the 18th of this month. Look at the network section for the posting to get all the details and if you have some questions don't hesitate to message me. Hope to see you there.

Welcome @JEREMIAH SANTOS

 I'm surprised that I was the first to mention this but check out the Meet up thread under network. The meeting is held usually the third Thursday of the month and we are scheduled for next week to see each other again. The meet up is a great way to network and find partners for your future. There is a good mix of newbies and experienced investors and you and your wife are welcomed to join and see what other investors are doing to be successful.

Hope to see you there and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
