@Chris Seveney

Thanks, I tried that and they referred me to the sheriffs office which then told me such list (pre foreclosure) doesn’t exist.

I have tried to go to my county and get a pre foreclosure list but they dont have it. I have also tried to call title companies and they dont have it either. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I can get it? Once I get the list what is the next step?

Would anyone happen to know where I can get a pre foreclosure list? I went to the county and they referred me to the sheriff office. When I asked for the list at the sheriff office was told there is no such thing. Is there a site or somewhere I can go to get one? I understand there are some websites you can pay to obtain it like preforeclosure.com

But my understanding was that this was free to obtain, but that I would just have to go somewhere to get it. Thanks Guys

Hey guys, Iam new to real estate investing and BP. I made the choice to focus on leaving a legacy for my kids and grand kids. Iam leaning towards buying multiple properties and renting them out in my home state of New Jersey.

I havent bought a property yet but I am thinking about taking out a home equity loan to put down as a down payment for my first deal, however my mortgage company said they do not do that. They told me if I wanted to take equity out I would have to refinance, is this normal? I do not have the financial backing to lay out $5-$10k on a down payment, any insight anyone could give me would be great.
