Would you suggest a newbie buy property that is 3 hours away (so same question, just buy on open market, not at a judicial sale)? 

The prices where I live are crazy high, but the prices in central PA (close to my hometown) are much more reasonable. 

Trying to figure out ways to jump into real estate game asap. 

Maybe @Steve Babiak is the guy to ask? 

Thanks guys! I'm a rookie who is just getting started. 

I am attracted to the low housing costs of central PA for long-term rentals. I live 3 hours away in Virginia. 

To give me even bigger bang for my buck, I'm interested in a judicial sale. Several houses previously sold at 1x annual rental income at these judicial sales. 

Seems like a goldmine. 

What am I missing? 

PS. @David Krulac seems to be the expert on this. Is that the case?
