Hey Miguel, I'm also in California but my rental portfolio is in Detroit (12-doors).

I'm a big advocate of that market and still believe it offers the best risk-adjusted returns today.

Lots of folks are still writing off Detroit but more and more are waking up to the opportunity there. The city is undergoing massive revitalization and investment.

That is the direction I am headed as well. I am new to investing but have some boots on the ground in Detroit. My plan is to be more of a passive investor as I have a business to run and am also living in California. What are some of the things you wish you knew before you got started in Detroit?

Hey Bigger Pockets community!

Thrilled to be joining this fantastic group and eager to dive into the world of real estate learning and collaboration with all of you. I'm a newcomer both to this community and to personal real estate investing, armed with a solid $200k to invest right now and a commitment to add at least $100k more to my investment pool each year. At 33, I've recently become a proud parent to my first daughter and am also a partner owner in a successful $48M industrial supply business (calling all contractors!). My plan is to use my ownership distributions for real estate investments.

I'm looking for suggestions for my initial real estate venture and am particularly interested in networking with all of you. I'm here to forge valuable connections with like-minded individuals. Whether the suggestions are to join certain groups, read specific books, investment strategy, etc... I am open to it all!

Looking forward to this journey and connecting with the group!
