Post: How to classify neighborhoods

I'm very curious to learn how to find good areas to invest in.  I plan on buying a multifamily property to house hack.  I am in the NYC metro area and would like to invest within an hour from here.  I always hear about B class areas and C class areas,  Any tips on how to understand how to classify neighborhoods.  I appreciate any suggestions or anything that can help.
