Hi all, Kyle here Carolina born, South Florida living. I work in tech, at a software company however have a real estate bug. I join with the hopes to gain knowledge and to eventually, make my first real estate purchase. Short and sweet honestly, feel free to ask me anything or pick my brain.

Thank you.

Hey Kyle, how's it going? I am an investor, realtor and property manager in Fort Lauderdale and have been in the game a while... Out of curiosity, what got you interested in RE now?

I am a renter of almost 5 years here, prices continue to rise. I need to buy into something I feel, because it's only going to go up. We have limited space down here; people are flocking here continuously. I don't want to throw money away every month, I would rather pay towards my own equity. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the South Florida market.

I have a big focus currently of downsizing. I am getting out of my 500$/month car for a cash car, which should lower my insurance also(310$).
Part of me wants to get a cheap piece of land to live on in a decked-out container in between the areas of the markets posted below. Or traveling in an RV, in between stays at my parents house.

I am currently running into a chunk of money 20k$~ and have family that will help invest in my first property. I am interested in the markets of Florence SC and Jacksonville FL and feel priced out of anywhere in South Florida where I currently am and would love to be. I work remote, and if need be I could drive to the closest office to me. But as of now no requirements. So just a lot of thoughts, a lot of studying, and trying to come up with the right decision.

Hey Kyle, welcome aboard! It's great to hear about your interest in real estate. I highly suggest that you tune in to the BiggerPockets Podcast and connect with the local lenders and brokers of the market you choose. Attend your local REI meetups to build up a strong network and feel free to reach out and connect with everyone in the community. It will be beneficial to achieving your goals. All the best!

So its probably best I be honest. I am currently running into a chunk of money 20k$~ and have family that will help invest in my first property. I am interested in the markets of Florence SC and Jacksonville FL and feel priced out of anywhere in South Florida where I currently am and would love to be. I work remote, and also play with the thought of getting a piece of land to live in a built up container as a house. I want to save money, so that would be the goal in that, lowering the monthly costs of life. I work remote mostly, and plan to stay that way.

I just am not sure where to go so I am here soaking up more information, in hopes of clearing the fog. I know I don't need to jump quick, but stay proactive in the meantime by learning.

Thank you all for advice given, I appreciate the warm welcome.

@Orhi Tahi If your looking for "aggregated data" for general reading purposes, ATTOM Data Services post articles and Black Knight (ICE) does a greet monthly PDF file.

IF you are looking to be a real estate investor who buys properties coming into foreclosure then you do that on a county basis. ALL Foreclosure MUST be posted in the county legal newspaper for a certain number of days based on the State. I have a free video and slides on how to find that data that I did a presentation at a local REIA group and my wife recorded it on her iPad if you want to connect with me if that is the kind of data you want.

Hey David, I will connect with you on this. I would love to check out the video/slides. Thank you for your help!
