Quote from @Ryan Hall:

Hi everyone!

I’m a general contractor with years of experience (originally from Australia, now based in San Diego). While I’ve got the construction side covered, I’m excited to expand into real estate investing and connect with local experts.

I'm particularly interested in Fix & Flip and BRRR strategies and would love to learn from experienced investors in the San Diego area. I'm looking for insights on everything from finding the right agents and navigating financing options to understanding the local market landscape. Ultimately, I'd love to partner on some deals and make connections with like-minded professionals.

If you’re open to sharing your knowledge, collaborating, or know someone who might be, please drop a comment or send me a DM. I’d really appreciate the chance to connect!

Thanks so much!

 Hi Ryan,

I am an out of state investor looking for fix and flip deals and brrrr opportunities in San Diego. It would be great to connect with you.

Hi Cat,

Everyone has said so many great things here. I would start by finding out if there are any restrictions on short-term rentals at the condo, you can check the condo's governing documents, such as the bylaws or covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs). These documents should outline any rules or restrictions related to renting out units in the building. If you are having trouble locating these documents, you may want to contact the property management company or homeowners' association for assistance. If you can provide me with the numbers I can help you with the math!

Looking forward to helping any way I can!

Best,

Kyle Butler

    Hey Kyle,

Only speaking for Ohio, the cities where investors have solid performing MTR and STR rentals are Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Cleveland.

I'm sure there are other spots, but these are the ones many of my investors have had success. This is largely due to the economics of theses cities, as well as being in the right spot of the city.

Feel free to reach out anytime, if you would like to chat more!

     Hi Tyler,

I appreciate you responding. Would absolutely like to get in touch with you.

What are the drivers in Ohio? Sporting events, medical care (a lot of good hospital, Cleveland Clinic, etc.), anything else? Thank you!

Columbus, Ohio is a great market to pick up rental properties because of the lower home prices and demand from renters. JPMorgan Chase, Nationwide, Honda, L Brands, Huntington, and Amazon are just a few of the many companies that have thousands of jobs in the city.
It would be great to get in touch about the Columbus market!

Hey Kyle, Columbus has been growing steadily and it's becoming a great rental market. Here's a link to Ohio's STR regulations for your future reference: https://www.columbus.gov/str/

Thanks for sending this over! I will take a look at the regulations.
