Happy to connect with other Canadians on here or cross border investors.

I started investing in Alberta in 2020 as a new immigrant and quickly grew my portfolio to over 13 units including 1 in Houston, Tx.

I focus on mid term and long term rentals!

Wanting to focus on other states such as Ohio etc

Nice to see you are already doing cross border investing as a Canadian. This is something I am interesting in and have started doing some research. I will like to connect with you to learn from you.

I am in BC in Canada and looking working on my first property here in Canada, specifically AB. I am interested in rental property and like AB for it landlord friendliness as well as a number of other metrics.

That’s awesome. You’re already on track by mentioning you’re looking at Alberta. I’m very experienced in this market and always finding cash flowing gems here. Can I send you a direct message so we can connect and chat further?

Quote from @Mukul Singh:

I want to add more context to this. The coach/course/mentor I am looking for is a program where there is a community of people (ie facebook group) and weekly or monthly coaching calls.

I am not looking to pay some exorbitant one on one mentorship. I am not looking to invest with a mentor in their investments.

I just want to know where the mentor is investing, what areas, access to their team (ie realtors, property management, carpenters, plumbers, etc..) in the cities they are investing in.

Thats what I am looking for. The person also needs to be reputable as in they have hundreds of enrolled students in their program.

Thanks everyone

Hello, just found this post not sure if you found a mentor.

I’m a Canadian investor who also has properties in the US.
I’m currently investing in Calgary, Tx and Ohio.
I have a simple 5 step process that I share with my students.
happy to connect and talk real estate!

Quote from @Nick C.:

The good news is there is no right or wrong way to invest in RE (as long as you're making money). Regardless of your risk tolerance, there is a strategy that can work.

Personally I quit my job and went full time. Having bills to pay and no paycheck coming is very motivating.

Yes I agree, no right or wrong way. We’re all learning everyday and the rules are constantly changing.

Betting on yourself and going all in is the best form of motivation. Going full time is a mindset block most people face. Walking away from the security of a W2 and status quo…
Thanks for sharing, very inspiring!

How big is addressing limitations in mindset and beliefs before investing in real estate?

What have you done to leave your comfort zone and get to a place of growth in your real estate investing journey?

I struggled with reaching out to mentors and coaches when I started investing in real estate. Just felt like I didn’t want to bother anyone or didn’t even know what questions to ask. Was more in my head then I guess. Anyone else struggling with this?

Welcome, and Ohio is awesome!

I agree 🙌🏼

Welcome @Kuzi Matambo Dumont! I'm also investing in Alberta & Texas. Why the switch to Ohio?

Hi Zorya

Nice to meet you :)

Alberta is awesome 👏🏽

Texas was great but higher taxes. Ohio has some similarities with our Alberta houses e.g. can get walk out basement suites. Taxes are lower and houses are cheaper.

Where in Texas are you investing and how’s the cashflow?
