In our system we have have an automated postcard and email campaign that sends over the span of a month enticing them to get the value of their house, and other enticements.  Those postcards and emails have 3 ways for the prospect to contact us, either go to our website and fill out the lead form with the sms opt in, or they can send an sms to us with an offer code that matches them to their number, or they can call us in which case we can ask them in person if they want to opt in, among other things such as if they want to sell their house.  In addition, to diversify the spend on postcards as well as broaden the list we also create google or facebook ad campaigns that drive people to the lead form to get opt in.

If you're considering sending messaging without opt-in consent these days, don't.  Those days are over, and the business risk of doing so is waaaaay high.  So how do you get opt in you ask?  Well you use campaigns that don't use sms to get it.
