Hi Chad,

No I didn't get any info from BP but did my own research and yes, ended up buying the property.  Tenants moved in on January 26.

So what are you looking for, rentals or fix & flips?

Hi Fellow Investors,

I'm considering buying a rental property in Firestone Park Akron and just wanted to get some feedback on the area - area in general, market values, rents, ease of renting, types of renters, any other info would be helpful as I'm a remote investor.

Thanks in advance

Hi out there.  Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but I'm looking at a duplex that is for sale (house no. 4764-4766) and when I'm researching I find an old listing for just the top unit (describing only the top unit at 4764) which sold for $50K and then a listing for the bottom unit, describing the whole duplex but the address at 4766 and that sold for $50K.

What the???? You have to buy or sell the whole duplex, don't you???? - So the total sale price was $50K for both the units??

Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks Frankie!  We can track each other's progress and maybe help each other out along the way.  I regularly talk to a Canadian investor, from Vancouver and we've become good friends.  He's coming to Australia soon so we'll get to meet in person.

Happy learning!!

I too want to do investing remotely from Canada.  It seems that you already have a great start with two pieces already!  Good job!

Welcome to BP and congrats on a great start. I've worked with some out of the ares, both state and country. What we have found, is when you are remote rehabbing is particularly risky and hard to accomplish. Wholesaling can be done after you are familiar with the areas, but is still a challenge. To do both of those, plan on frequent visits. Landlording seems to work well from a distance.
