@Sophie Maisel I would keep as much of the drywall and other items that are in good condition as possible. I over rehabbed a house and slightly regret some changes. But hey, live and learn.

@Erica Moore I allow small pets and charge a pet rent per pet. I currently don’t have carpet in my rentals so hopefully it stays cleaner. I don’t think you can predict if something is going to get chewed up, but then the deposit should help cover damages?

I am interested in properties listed on the MLS. However to prevent getting overextended or other pitfalls from growing too fast, I am one to two months away from putting in a solid offer on a new deal.

Is it ok to start the conversation and get information, or just wait until I feel comfortable making an offer?

@Jason Stewart HELOC or PALs then refinance later to a conventional.

@Christopher Madden Is it broken up and looking rundown? Or it looks ok, just isn’t shiny and new? If it is functional, I would leave it as is.
