Hey Jordan,

Is the Social Hour for anyone or just realtors? I am brand new and interested in my first foray into real estate investing.

Hey y'all. I am looking to start a medium term rental. This would be my first time ever managing a property and I wanted to know how to find several maintenance people that I can call if there is an issue (plumbers, electricians, etc) with the house while my tenants are there. Any idea where to start? And how would I negotiate pay to have them on retainer? I am in the Austin area.

Reasonably so. I actually have my own self-employed business (contract work) that is in itself in its own LLC. I have my own personal umbrella currently but can increase it.

Appreciate all the great feedback! I didn't think about the legal ramifications with insurance if I place it into an LLC without letting them know since the city technically won't allow it. I'll look into the umbrella policies in addition to the STR specific insurance.

Hi everyone! I am thinking of putting my house on Airbnb in Austin. I have a STR license from the city. I'm a little worried about getting sued if a guest hurts themselves on my property.

Would you recommend me transferring the property into an LLC to protect my other assets? Austin STR rules says that you cannot have a license under an LLC but I figured I can just do it for a year and when renewal time comes up I can decide to sell it or switch it to a long-term rental. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this.
