Hello @Patrick Looney,

Welcome to the jewel of California, the Monterey peninsula.

What the landlord did was normal. I worked in property management and this was standard protocol.

This is so interesting since the first week of my honeymoon was in Carmel-by-sea! We stayed in the basement of someone's home that was an Airbnb and it's still running nearly 6 years later. It was a completely residential neighborhood, nothing commercial about it! Did they grandfather in the operating STR when they made the ordinance?

They did not grandfather in existing STRs that fell outside of the commercial zone.
Must be skipping under the radar!

There most definitely are some going under the radar.

@Gayle Eisner Did you end up going with Mr. Sandless? I'm curious to get more feedback aside from Yelp reviews on that company, but no one I know ever used that one. I think going with a conventional flooring company is the best route even if it costs more; and, like you, I tend to think if it's too good to be true, that's because it probably is."

 @Lane Aakhus

What was the total price/sqft on that?

I have a similar issue but in California.

@Michael McClearn Hi Mike,

Unfortunately not and I've had to divert to new strategies because of it.

I'd like to find one soon where I can start now with building a relationship to eventually go after some leads I've been accumulating.

Our final REI meetup of the year will be December 5th from 4-6pm at Peter B's Brewpub in Monterey.

Bring your current and future projects to the table and let's see how we can help each other close the year on a high note.

The main topic of the evening will cover solutions for finding deals in the current high interest/low inventory market.

Hi Frank,

We typically meet once a month, but I haven't set the next meetup yet. I'll tag you and the others that are new once I do.

Also, I saw that you are a contractor and I might have a project coming up in Felton. It's for a cabin that has a problem with a sloped driveway that is in terrible condition. Before any work can be done on the cabin, the driveway needs to be repaired for trucks to access the worksite.

Do you take contracting jobs in Felton by any chance?

Hello community,

I'm looking for recommendations for a real estate attorney in or around Grovetown, Georgia that is experienced with creative financing deals.

Thank you for your help.

@ Darius

 I live next to several colleges and two military bases so my exit strategy is rent to students and military. Priority would be the military though since they're here for 2 years and they never miss rent.

Do you have any interest in investing in student/military housing down here in Monterey/Santa Cruz county?
