Hi Tyler. Can you expand on what the law is. We are also considering FL for a STR.

Thanks Andrew. I've been looking in the NE Davenport area but been looking a full year in advance and been getting 25-30% occupancy.... which I didn't think was right.

Where is your townhouse? What are you charging?

Hi BP

Been doing a lot of research on my first STR purchase. When analyzing the vacancy rates on AirBnb, VRBO, etc. for the different areas we're interested in, I'm wondering how far in the future I should be looking. Some STRs have bookings a year in advance while most seem to have empty calendars after 6 months out. For those that have STRs around the Disneyworld area can you tell me how far in the future I should be looking to get a good indication of your overall vacancy rate?

Hi BiggerPockets,

My wife and I hold 2 long term investment properties here in Ontario, Canada and are exploring purchasing a STR in the South someplace. We have a lot to learn but I have been browsing the BiggerPockets forums and...wow there is a lot of information here. I've learned a ton already. About 2 weeks ago I knew nothing about STR's in the US. I got on "The Google" and found this place and haven't looked back.

Well...off to read somemore!
