This post was aspiring. We're in the same boat as far as inheriting a property that is free and clear and definitely needs some updates. I'm in the process of working out the details of acquiring the property in the next few months and was trying to come up with a plan to tackle this project (my first property). This opportunity will allow me to not only build my portfolio but learn how to be a landlord. Since this post was 3 years ago, how's your property doing? I'd love to hear more on the progress.

Congratulations, your story was very inspiring. I'm also in the process of acquiring my first property that is esentially free (inherited property) as well as doing a house hack in the next year or so. Continue to keep the BP community posted on your successes, thanks again!
