If I bought a foreclosure for 50k in cash- how hard is it to get a rehab loan? This would not be a primary residence, it would be more of a fix & flip or rental. Our credit isn't great. Do you still need money down for a rehab loan or can you use the property as collateral?

Any info would be helpful. There is a property I have an interest in and it needs a total rehab. The timing isn't great but damn what an opportunity, I hate to not even TRY to consider making it happen....Thanks gurus!

Movement mortgage in the Syracuse area has an FHA 203K rehab loan. Fairly easy qualifications as far as credit score and down payment. Would be happy to help connect you if you’re interested!

Thanks! but this wouldn't be our primary residence which I know is required for that type of loan as I understand it!

They have multiple loan types that involve rehab, even sone specifically designed for investing. Would love to send you their info

Syracuse NY and the Central NY region in general is a very favorable area for investors, especially first time investors. There are lower priced properties that will still rent at a nice profit market when including mortgage, taxes, other expenses. Great selection of both multi family and single family homes

Hello thank you for letting me be part of this group excited to learn.

Excited for you to join! What part of NY are you looking to invest in?
Quote from @Timothy T.:

The announcement of Mircon investing $100 billion over the next 20-plus years in Onondaga County has sparked renewed interest in available land in surrounding areas where we lack housing – specifically multi-family housing. Upstate New York’s housing currently can’t support the nearly 50,000 jobs statewide promised to be created by the end of this decade. Securing land and real estate in Onondaga County and beyond is an opportunity to consider heavily for investors and developers in Upstate NY.

Absolutely agree Timothy! Syracuse has great potential for any sort of investing possible. There are currently a few efforts to revitalize some communities via business owners and community members!

Hey Prem, I’m looking to specialize working with investors like yourself. Syracuse is a great market to start investing in with all of the schools, hospitals, and attractions in the area. Would love to discuss if you’re still looking to invest in the area!
