@mark Nolan, been using bigger pockets to do all my research. Appreciate the link. @michael Haynes, thank you for the information. Kind of what I was looking for. Someone in the area that has a better understanding of the market and able to kind of point me in the right direction. Thanks again

I Moved out to Tampa FL because I had an opportunity to work in the construction field with Carpenters doing things from framing to renovation work. Here's the situation. I know a homeowner who wants to find a house out in FL to help me move into and potentially own. The problem however is that he only wants to spend about 50,000 max on it. I don't have the best of credit and I figured I wanted to start getting into real estate investing and owning my own properties one way or another. My question to you is... Where could I go about finding these properties? I hear alot of "Off-Market' type things but I never seem to come across anything. Should I start looking at HUD's? REO's? Pre-Foreclosures? FSBO's? Im not 100% sure as I have never invested before so If anyone have any advice im all ears.

Here's my story. I am in the process of obtaining my first investment. It's a duplex worth 180,000$ that's already been renovated. The duplex is "tenant ready". So after I figure out that this is the house I'm getting, I get to the loan process. Denied... I had a feeling that this was going to happen. Now on to the "obstacles" that are standing in my way -I'm broke "Most 24 year olds are" -I have bad credit "500s for all three scores" -Bad statement involving a renters office on my credit Working on improving my credit as we speak but if there is another way to go about this as well, let me know. Thanks for taking the time to read this

Hello everyone just introducing myself. My name is Jarrel Smith and I'm just now getting started into RE Investing. Starting from square one. I have yet to figure out what exactly strategy I plan on using but I'm sure with time, it will come. Joined biggerpockets because in order for me to get to where I want to go, I have to get myself around like minded individuals as yourselves. So once again "Hello Everybody" and thanks.
