Welcome to BP! It's good to have a long term goal, just make sure you breakdown your goal into smaller achievable steps that are measurable. For example, for you it would be buying your first property. To do that, you need to figure out whether you want to pursue a BARRRR strategy or househack or what.

I think it's super cool that you are a pro basketball player and a man of god.

A lot of areas are late stage in the real estate cycle so make sure you look off-market if you can.

Good luck!

Yes just like you are saying, starting off with the small goal of getting 2 properties. Using the BRRRR method for my first rental. Wish I could house hack but Im always on the move.

I love it, basketball has taken me all over the world. Yes something I need to learn how to look at are the cycle of real estate. Will research some articles on real estate cycles in the forum and on youtube. Thanks for that great advice will start using other methods as well trying to find the best deals

Hello Biggerpockets family!

I hope everything is going great and you are crushing all of your goals for the year. My name is Kyle Fogg. I am a professional basketball player, currently living in Guangzhou China. This is my 6th year playing pro ball and I have been extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to play in 5 different countries!

I live in Chino Hills, CA during the summers in the off season, and split time between Arizona and California. I am just a few days away from closing on my first buy and hold! I am excited to be a part of Biggerpockets and to learn from you all. I am always open to learning new things and reading books. I try to push myself everyday on and off the court to maximize my potential!

I have a strong faith in God and my goal is to use my gifts to help as many people as I can. I realize I have been very blessed with so much. Great family, education, growing up without having to worry about food, water, or shelter, and the chance to live my childhood dream of playing basketball professionally. Everyone deserves these basic opportunities don't you think?

I believe we have all been put here to do extraordinary things and live happy lives. My goal with real estate to start is to get my first two buy and holds. Next to become financially free. Eventually I want to have a real estate investment group, owning a large amount of cash flowing, appreciating units. I see everyone involved in the group accomplishing their goals with real estate and more. Most importantly everyone will have pledged to give a large percentage of profits to help those in need. Let me calm down, I should probably just focus on my first property, and maybe learn a couple things about real estate haha but "shoot for the moon" right?

Thanks everyone!!

- Kyle
